As a MUCI, we often dive in black water....the complete absence of light. You may as well not have eyes! When this is combined with entanglement hazards, limitations on air and what one may find (a body, for example), there is stress that must be managed. I found a good article by the staff of DAN that outlines some of these; https://dan.org/alert-diver/article/underwater-crime-scene-investigators/
I think you'll find it to be an interesting article. Make an honest evaluation of your mental self, your abilities and your ability to deal with stress before you put yourself in these types of dives. Remember; any diver can call a dive for themselves at any time. The dive leader calls dives for the team, if conditions are not right. You will encounter the most tragic and depraved of human nature in this type of diving. It is the most interesting and exciting type of diving.....it is also some of the most stressful. Read the DAN article and be safe!
